Secured Wi-Fi Hotspots (in Belgium)

The following part describes how you can make a secured connection to the Wi-Fi hotspots of Proximus (Belgacom) and Telenet. This article is meanly ‘devoted’ to Android, because this platform asks to complete every detail of the authentication process.

For platforms of Microsoft (Windows 8.1/10 and Windows Phone 8.1/10), the logon process is more simplified and streamlined…
For Apple devices, the possibilities for using ‘802.1x EAP’ will depend on the version of iOS or Mac OS X being used on that device.

Please also make sure that the open networks ‘PROXIMUS_FON’, ‘BELGACOM_FON’, ‘TELENETHOMESPOT’ and ‘TELENETHOTSPOT’ are REMOVED from the list of ‘Known Networks’. Otherwise they will interfere with the new ones !
